'We Ready': Watts Rams Youth Football Team Get Hyped Ahead of Game in Los Angeles

Singing to the tune of Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye by Steam, the boys of the Watts Rams youth football team in Los Angeles, California, got pumped up for their game on September 14 by singing “we ready, we ready, we ready, for y’all.”

The Watts Rams are a football team of boys ages 8 to 13, coached by Los Angeles Police Department officers and supported by the LAPD.

The team was formerly known as the Watts Bears before the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams announced a partnership with the program in July 2019, when they promised to “fund all football components of the Watts Rams program, including uniforms and equipment” and provide access to pro players and staff, according to a press release.

Sarah Bergstrom is a volunteer with the team and filmed this video.

“It was totally spur of the moment, but they usually do team things to get hyped up before games,” said Bergstrom of the chant. “It’s an amazing program … our team is a nonprofit run by the LAPD that’s entirely free to our students. The goal is mentorship and off-field development through football. We do tutoring and summer school as well. This past year the Rams officially adopted us, which has been really amazing for our kids and has opened up a lot of doors.” Credit: Sarah Bergstrom via Storyful
