Pro-Palestinian Protesters Block Entrances to Defense Contractor BAE Systems

Pro-Palestinian groups blocked entrances to several BAE Systems facilities in the UK on Thursday, December 7, protesting what they said were the company’s ties with Israel.

Protests took place at sites in Lancashire, Bournemouth, Glasgow, and Brighton. The protesters were calling on BAE Systems to stop providing equipment to Israel, according to local news reports.

The protests were organized by the campaign group Workers for a Free Palestine. The group said the rear fuselage of the F-35 fighter jet used by Israel is made at the BAE Systems site in Lancashire.

Amid similar protests in November, BAE Systems said it did not directly export equipment to Israel. Credit: Workers for a Free Palestine via Storyful
