Police Respond After Man Pushing for Lib Dems Holds 'Intimidating' Display at Polling Station

A man pushing for voters to support the Liberal Democrats in Lewes on Thursday, December 12, drew criticism from a voter for an “intimidating” display outside a polling station.

The man’s display featured a skeleton and a message reading, “Every Tory vote is another year off our children’s life.” The message concluded by appealing to voters to cast their ballot for the Liberal Democrats. The man also sounded a gong as part of his display.

It is an offence to campaign within 250 metres of a polling station on polling day.

Sussex Police said its officers attended the scene, and that the man had left. Credit: @GrannyChippy1 via Storyful
