Police and Fire Crew Team Up to Rescue Dog Trapped in Icy Pond

Police and firefighters in Walton Hills, Ohio, worked together to rescue a dog trapped in the middle of an icy pond on Friday, February 21.

Officers from the Walton Hills Police Department were first on the scene, at South Meadowpark Drive. They found the dog had gone too far towards the middle of the pond, so called in the help of Oakwood Fire Department.

Bodycam footage released by police shows a man crawling across the ice to retrieve the dog.

According to News 5 Cleveland, the dog, who lives next to the pond, was given back to its owner a little cold and wet, but otherwise fine. Credit: Walton Hills Police Department via Storyful
