Police Detain Suspect After Car Ploughs Through Chicago-Area Mall
One man was in police custody after an SUV ploughed through a shopping mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, in the greater Chicago area, on September 20, and crashed into a storefront, local media reported.
Video filmed by Robert Fakhouri, who says he owns a shop in the mall, shows police surrounding a seated man with his hands bound behind his back. The Village of Schaumburg released a statement saying police had “a male driver” in custody.
In an interview with ABC 7, Robert Fakhouri said: “They brought him into my store and apprehended him in the store. I’m not sure if it’s because of the space inside and they had room and they were able to sit him down, or what happened."
