Peruvian Authorities Seize Narco-Submarine Carrying Over a Ton of Cocaine

In a seizure captured on video on December 7, Peruvian authorities impounded a narco-submarine that was found carrying more than a ton of cocaine off the coast of Peru.

The semi-submersible vessel was captured with four people on board – two Colombians, an Ecuadorian and a Mexican – all of whom were arrested.

Attorney General Jorge Chavez told the media that at least a ton of cocaine had been loaded onto the vessel in an Ecuadorian mangrove forest. The sub was bound for Mexico, he said. Credit: Marina de Guerra del Perú via Storyful
