Pennsylvania Capitol Fountain Dyed Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Pennsylvania Capitol Fountain in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was dyed pink on October 1 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Footage taken by the PA Breast Cancer Coalition shows the fountain gushing pink water.

The coalition wrote in a media release: “The pink fountain serves as a symbol of hope for the thousands of survivors across the Commonwealth and a place of reflection, remembering the women we have lost to the disease.”

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, during the month of October an “annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease” will be waged.
