Paramedic Piper Plays 'Scotland the Brave' in Tribute to Essential Workers

As people around the UK clapped and cheered for NHS workers on the evening of April 2, a Scottish Ambulance Service paramedic paid tribute to “all key workers” with a bagpipe performance of Scotland the Brave, the country’s unofficial anthem.

Footage of the moment was shared by the ambulance service on Facebook. In it, an air ambulance paramedic identified as Peter plays the tune outside a hangar at Glasgow Airport alongside his colleagues. The Facebook post specifically nods to neonatal workers and Emergency Medical Retrieval Service pilots. Credit: Scottish Ambulance Service via Storyful
