Orange County Police Search for Man Seen Tampering With Grocery Store Water

Police in Orange County, California, are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of removing lids from water bottles in a Mission Viejo grocery store on Monday, June 17.

CCTV footage from the store, Ralphs, shows a man, described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, removing water bottles from shelves and opening them.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the man exited the store before deputies arrived shortly after 2:30 pm.

All water bottles tampered with were removed by staff, and several were collected by police officers for testing to see if the water had been contaminated.

“Don’t purchase products if the packaging is open, torn, or damaged. Never consume food from products that are damaged or look unusual. If you suspect product tampering at a store, contact the store manager,” police wrote. Credit: Orange County Sheriff’s Department via Storyful
