Oklahoma Trooper Praised After Rescuing 3 Children From Overturned Truck

Three small children were rescued after becoming pinned inside an overturned truck in a body of water near Harris, Oklahoma, on February 14, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) and The McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office.

McCurtain County Sheriff’s deputy Curtis Fields said several sheriffs’ deputies responded along with the OHP and the Haworth Volunteer Fire Department. The nose and lips of the third child to be extricated – an infant – were already turning blue, Fields said.

Fields said Trooper Cody Enloe of the OHP, who pulled all three children from the vehicle, immediately carried out life-saving measures and fluid was expelled from the child’s mouth.

“There is no doubt in my mind that Trooper Enloe saved the lives of those three children,” Fields wrote. “The professionalism and competence that was exhibited by Trooper Cody Enloe on this day will be something I remembered for the rest of my life and was nothing short of incredible. Trooper Cody Enloe, while being a first-year trooper, performed with all the skill and professionalism of a veteran officer.” Credit: Oklahoma Highway Patrol via Storyful
