Ohio Couple Hold Socially Distant Wedding Ceremony on Porch

An Ohio couple held a porch wedding outside their Dayton home after the coronavirus pandemic disrupted their original plans, and shared Ring camera footage of the event on June 1.

Ring camera footage shared by Megan Dunn shows a moment from the socially distant wedding ceremony on Saturday, May 23, just before Dunn and her fiance, Matthew Peters, said their vows.

Speaking to Storyful, Dunn said the couple got engaged on March 26, 2019, and set the date for May 23 of this year.

“Matt and I were not able to get a marriage license for a couple of months due to our county offices being closed during the pandemic. When we finally called, all license appointments were full but we found someone who fit us into the schedule so we could get married in May,” she said.

Once they found a celebrant, they started planning the details of their porch wedding.

“We could not have asked for a better day to marry each other in the company of a few family and friends, with some watching on livestream,” Dunn said.

They are having a formal wedding in September, Dunn said, but still wanted to get legally married on the day they originally set for their wedding.
