Moveable Feast: Grizzly Steals Bull Elk Killed by Another Bear at Yellowstone National Park

A grizzly bear seen recently stealing a bison carcass from some wolves got a taste of its own medicine on September 26, when another bear helped itself to the remains of an elk it had earlier taken down.

Adam Brubaker recorded this video, showing the bear digging up the elk, which had been buried on September 18.

Brubaker identified the bear taking the carcass as bear 881. The elk was chased down and killed in dramatic fashion by bear 791.

Another user on Facebook captured video showing the faceoff between bear 791 and bear 881, before the latter took the spoils. Credit: Adam Brubaker via Storyful
