Maternity Ward Hit in Shelling on Stepanakert

The Armenian Defence Ministry claimed Azerbaijani shelling hit a maternity hospital in Stepanakert, a city in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, on October 28, Reuters reported.

The report also said Armenia claimed shelling on the city of Shusha resulted in at least one casualty.

Storyful is unable to independently verify the death and injury toll.

Three ceasefires have been negotiated since the beginning of the conflict on September 27, but none have held. The latest ceasefire, brokered in Washington, was agreed to on Sunday.
