Magician's Methods Sliced and Diced as 'Blade' Secret Revealed
The trick of sawing a body in two celebrates its centenary in 2021, and its originator, PT Selbit, probably wouldn’t have been impressed as the secret behind a Shenzen magician’s version of the illusion was revealed in front of an audience recently.
The trick was exposed by a fellow illusionist, and the magicians involved go by the apt stage names of Pokerface Man and Embarrassing Man. The duo post videos to Kuaishou, a Chinese video-sharing app, where the Pokerface Man account has over 720,000 followers.
The account focuses on humorous revelations of the secrets behind Embarrassing Man’s tricks.
In this instance, Embarrassing Man was performing the age-old trick of cutting what appeared to be one person in half, as a crowd looked on.
After the top and bottom half of the volunteer in question appear to have been separated, Embarrassing Man can be seen showing off to the camera only for his partner to ruin his fun.
Pokerface Man soon reveals how the box holding the top half of the man taking part in the trick, actually has enough room for his legs to be tucked in, without any danger of a blade chopping him in two from the waist down.
The pair told Storyful that the footage was recorded on April 20.
