Light Mix of Snow and Rain Falls in Northern Colorado

Light snow fell in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Thursday, February 22, but above-freezing temperatures were preventing any buildup on the ground, according to residents and the National Weather Service.

Heavier snow had fallen in mountains northwest of Fort Collins overnight, but transitioned to scattered snow and rain showers Thursday morning as the weather system moved southeast, the NWS said.

This video from Fort Collins resident and meteorologist Howard Gebhart shows light snow coming down on his property. “Mostly snowfall in the backyard, but with temps at 36F, nothing is accumulating,” Gebhart wrote in a post on X. Credit: Howard Gebhart via Storyful
