Koala Saved From Bushfires Released Back Into Victoria Habitat

At least 150 koalas rescued from parts of bushfire ravaged Victoria, were returned to their habitat as part of the state’s “Koala Monitoring and Relocation Project”.

This footage, shared by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) on February 23, shows one of the koalas being released into bushland in the Gelantipy area of East Gippsland.

“These koalas have been monitored since 8 January and each koala was vet-checked prior to release,” the DELWP said in the Facebook post.
