‘Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty’: Brave Hiker Encounters Lynx Couple on Snowy Alberta Trail

While trekking along a snowy trail in Kananaskis, the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Tom Graham encountered something that he hadn’t seen in his 18 years of living in the town — two adult lynxes together.

The pair, which appear to be a male and a female, can be seen walking from a wooded area onto a trek pathway, even stopping to look at Graham, in the video uploaded to Twitter.

“They were close and didn’t seem worried about my presence,” Graham told Storyful. “Being a bit of a smart aleck, I called at them, ‘Here kitty, kitty, kitty,’ as they wandered off,” he added.

According to PBS, lynx mate between February and March, and during this time the male will “follow a female”. Credit: Tom Graham via Storyful
