Hurricane Delta Lashes Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula

Hurricane Delta made landfall in Mexico early on October 7, lashing coastal areas of the Yucatan Peninsula with strong winds and driving rain.

This footage, posted to Twitter by Mauricio Criado, shows the storm hitting Playa del Carmen shortly after 5 am local time.

The storm strengthened to a Category 4 Tuesday night, but weakened to a Category 2 storm as it hit Mexico on Wednesday.
