Hurricane Delta Brings Driving Wind and Rain to Yucatan Peninsula

Hurricane Delta hit the eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula on October 7, with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warning of a life-threatening storm surge and winds of up to 110 mph.

This footage, filmed in the early hours of October 7 in Playa del Carmen, shows strong winds and rain lashing a suburban street in the town.

The NHC said the southern US, including Louisiana and Mississippi, were expected to be affected by the storm as of Friday, October 9, bringing with it a large storm surge, heavy rain and tropical-storm-force winds. Credit: @Klunchis via Storyful
