Houston Artists Honor Missing Fort Hood Soldier With Mural

Artists in Houston, Texas, created a mural in honor of a soldier who has been missing since late April, according to local media reports.

Pfc Vanessa Guillen, 20, was last seen in a parking lot in Fort Hood on April 22.

Officials found human remains in a shallow grave along the Leon River on June 30, but have not yet released the identity of the remains, according to reports.

The family’s attorney, Natalie Khawam, told local media she believes authorities found Guillen’s remains.

A suspect wanted in connection to Guillen’s disappearance reportedly killed himself when police approached him on July 1. The suspect was described by officials as a Fort Hood junior soldier.

The circumstances surrounding Guillen’s disappearance are unclear. The family has called for a congressional investigation to get additional information.
