Hospitality Workers in London Protest Coronavirus Restrictions

Hundreds of workers and suppliers involved in the hospitality industry gathered in London’s Parliament Square on October 19 to protest the UK’s coronavirus restrictions, which they say will devastate their industry.

The organisers of the protest said on their website that restrictions on hospitality venues “will lead to the demise of thousands of restaurants, bars, clubs and other related businesses”.

The site invited “anyone who works in, or is connected to hospitality” to attend the rally, and bring items such as “saucepans, wooden spoons, cocktail shakers” to bang on. Credit: Sarah Belizaire-Butler via Storyful
