A dust storm swept through the village of Geurie, New South Wales, on Thursday, January 16.
Paula-Jayne Lyneham recorded this footage of the thick, rumbling cloud as it approached her and her neighbors’ properties.
The storm was fast moving, according to Lyneham. “Within five minutes we were engulfed in thick red darkness,” she told Storyful.
“Never seen anything like it before,” she added. “It was as if the air pressure of the storm was sucking up the red dirt all around due to being in such devastating drought, and propelling it forward.” Credit: Paula-Jayne Lyneham via Storyful
