Heavy Rainfall Causes Flooding in the Yass Valley in New South Wales

Roads were cut off by floodwaters and the Yass River was left bloated after heavy rainfall caused flooding across the region in the New South Wales Yass Valley on August 9.

The State Emergency Service reported using watercraft to rescue animals and residents from the floodwaters.

Elsewhere in the state, emergency services ordered residents of Moruya’s centre to move to higher ground fearing sewerage lines and power to the area would be lost.
