West Central Tribune reported that several cities in western Minnesota sustained significant wind damage as the storm swept across Yellow Medicine and Renville counties.

Granite Falls Mayor Dave Smiglewski said trees were uprooted by the storm with “a lot of big branches down,” according to the report.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that full power was expected to be restored by August 9 and asked residents with downed trees and branches to place them on the city’s boulevards for crews to clean. Credit: Krissy Olness via Storyful
