'It's Going to Be a Lot of Anger': Trump Claims DNC Will Not Put Sanders on Democratic Ticket

US President Donald Trump has claimed that the Democratic National Committee will prevent Bernie Sanders from being the 2020 presidential nominee despite him having a “pretty good lead,” a video recorded in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 19 shows.

Trump, who was speaking to supporters at the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, said it was going to be “very interesting” to watch tension between Sanders and the DNC ramp up ahead of any final decision on the party’s 2020 candidate.

“And they did that one time before. The good news is that they’re going to have a group of people that are just not going to stand for it,” Trump said.

“Right now he’s got a pretty good lead, but it looks like the DNC is going to do the same thing as they did last time,” Trump added, referring to Sanders being passed over as the 2016 Democratic nominee.

“We’ll see if that happens or not. There’s going to be a lot of anger,” Trump said, before saying goodbye to the crowd, which erupted into chants of “USA.”

According to emails released by Russian government hackers to WikiLeaks, top officials at the DNC criticized and mocked Sanders during his primary campaign against Clinton. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned from her position as party chairperson over the controversy, and the DNC issued an apology to Sanders for “inexcusable remarks” made over email.
