A Giant Leap For Womankind: First All-Female Spacewalk Scheduled to Take Place from International Space Station

Astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch are due to make history on October 18 when they take part in the first all-female spacewalk from the International Space Station.

Meir and Koch will venture into space to replace a failed power controller, according to reports from NASA.

Koch was meant to take part in the historic spacewalk earlier in the year with her colleague Anne McClain; however, it had to be rescheduled after NASA announced that it didn’t have the correct-sized spacesuits for the two women. Credit: NASA via Storyful
