Flags were flown at half-mast during a minute’s silence that was held across all Italian municipalities on March 31 to commemorate the victims of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The total number of coronavirus deaths in Italy is believed to have reached 11,591 as of March 30, according to a report by the Civil Protection department.
