Firefighting Helicopter Drops Water on Bushfire in the Blue Mountains

Waterbombing aircraft took to the skies to fight the hard-to-access Ruined Castle bushfire in the New South Wales Blue Mountains on Tuesday, December 3.

The Rural Fire Service has warned the fire is burning in a northerly direction towards Cliff Drive in Katoomba, threatening to climb the cliff face and affect properties in the town.

The difficulty of fighting the fire is demonstrated in this video, which shows a waterbombing helicopter dumping its load on the wall of a valley.
