Federal Officers Use Tear Gas to Disperse Protesters During Tense Night of Demonstrations

Federal officers used tear gas and stun grenades on July 15 to disperse encamped protesters in Portland, Oregon’s Lownsdale Square, where demonstrators attempted to establish the Chinook Land Autonomous Territory in a park, local media reported.

Demonstrators said that Lownsdale Square was an autonomous zone and erected tents to camp overnight.

Footage of the clash shows tear gas clouding Lownsdale Square and the surrounding area. The officers wearing camouflage uniforms throw tear gas canisters and deploy stun grenades.
