Dumping of Snow Doesn't Stop Football Practice in Launceston, Tasmania

A rare dumping of snow created an unusual scene at practice for a Launceston football club on August 4.

Residents of the Tasmanian city woke to a winter wonderland on August 5 after snow began falling overnight. The city saw 41 millimetres of rainfall from the 24 hours before according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The city’s council warned many roads were affected by ice and fallen trees and urged motorists to take caution.
