Dramatic CCTV Shows Moment of Beirut Blast's Impact on Furniture Store

CCTV footage exclusively obtained by Storyful shows the dramatic impact of the August 4 Beirut explosion on a furniture store just 1km from the blast site.

The store, a local branch of the Italian furniture company Natuzzi, is run by the Lebanese businessman Naji Fatte, who told Storyful that, incredibly, his staff were unharmed.

A GoFundMe was launched by Natuzzi to support Fatte and his staff, though Fatte told Storyful that he would prefer if any donations would go to the Lebanese people and the organizations Lebanese Red Cross, Impact Lebanon, and Offre-Joie.

Lebanon declared a two-week state of emergency a day after the blast killed at least 135 people and injured 5,000.

Relief packages have been announced by other countries to help assist in the wake of the disaster, including a reported $6.6 million package from the United Kingdom.
