Derailed Train Cars Spill Aluminum Oxide East of Elko, Nevada
Twenty-two train cars derailed near Interstate 80 east of Elko, Nevada, on June 19, spilling aluminum oxide, according to the Elko County Sheriff’s Office.
The highway was temporarily closed at mile marker 352 around 11.17 am local time as officials cleaned the spill. It was reopened by 12.08 pm, officials said.
