Thousands of people gathered in the streets around Lower Manhattan’s Foley Square in preparation for the city’s climate strike protest on September 20.

The New York City climate strike was scheduled to be led by Greta Thunberg, the 16 year-old climate activist who has been rallying young people around the world to take part in the protests.

In a video uploaded from the New York Municipal Building in Manhattan, thousands of protesters can be seen lining the streets around Foley Square. Gale A. Brewer, the President of Manhattan, tweeted this footage.
