'Out-of-Control' Bushfire Threatens Homes Outside Canberra

Residents around the Orroral Valley fire have been urged by the Australian Capital Territory Emergency Services Agency to “remain vigilant” on January 28, as the bushfire continued to burn in Namadgi National Park, near Chapman, Canberra.

A Watch and Act level warning remained in effect, as the agency warned residents “to not enter or return” to areas including Tharwa Village, Boboyan Road, Apollo Road, and Top Naas Road.

Smoke can be seen in the skies above Namadgi National Park in Anthony Pesec’s video, which was uploaded to Twitter. Pesec described the fires as “out-of-control”.
