Colorful Smoke Released During Cambridge Climate Strike

Colorful smoke was released during a climate strike protest in Cambridge, England, on September 20 as crowds chanted outside Kings College.

In a video uploaded by Emily Lomax, orange and blue smoke was released from an upstairs shopfront window across the street from Kings College. Hundreds of people taking part in the strike chanted “climate change” and clapped as they were led by a male voice. Lomax tweeted: “This guy  how to engage a crowd.”

The climate strike drew crowds from more than 150 countries around the world on September 20. Greta Thunberg, the 16-year old climate activist, was scheduled to speak at the New York City event. The protests, which have been growing in popularity in recent months, call on politicians to keep fossil fuels in the ground and pass strict environmental protections. Credit: Emily Lomax via Storyful
