Cold Front Brings Snow to New Zealand's South Island

Flights were grounded in Queenstown, New Zealand, on September 28, after a cold front swept the South Island, blanketing areas in thick snow.

Snow could be seen at Queenstown Airport and Invercargill Airport and was even observed at the beach at Oban, according to an update from MetService New Zealand. Dunedin and parts of the West Coast also received snowfall, the weather authority said.
