'A Cloud Waterfall': Unusual Storm Clouds Move Through Central Tennessee

As a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Cannon County, Tennessee, on August 13, local resident Dana Keele captured stunning footage of a shelf cloud that formed over the area.

Posting images and video of the event to Facebook, she wrote, “the clouds were reaching down as they progressed forward,” and dubbed the sight “a cloud waterfall.”

The chief meteorologist with Fox 17 News in nearby Nashville, Katy Morgan, noted in a report on the cloud formation that this can happen when warm, moist air rushes into a storm cloud.
