Charter Flight Carrying US Evacuees From Wuhan Refuels in Alaska

A chartered plane carrying US evacuees, including diplomatic staff, from the coronavirus-hit city of Wuhan landed to refuel in Alaska on January 28.

The plane was due to stop at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport before continuing to March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, California, the Los Angeles Times reported. The plane had previously been scheduled to land at Ontario, California

When announcing the evacuation flight, the State Department said that capacity was extremely limited and if there was insufficient ability to transport everyone who expressed interest, priority would be given to individuals at greater risk from the virus. Credit: Joe Vigil KTVA 11 News via Storyful
