Canberra Belted by Golf Ball-Sized Hail

Golf ball-sized hail battered the Australian capital Canberra as severe storms were forecast around the state on January 20.

Hailstones as large as 5 centimetres were reported to have fallen on the city, with further storms a possibility later in the day.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued storm warnings for almost a quarter of the nearby state of New South Wales.
