Three Italian firefighters killed in an explosion at a farm building near the northern city of Alessandria earlier this week were honored by colleagues and members of the public at a funeral on November 8.
La Stampa said hundreds of firefighters were in attendance at Alessandria’s Cathedral of Saint Peter and Mark, while members of the public crowded the square outside. The three fireman killed were Antonio Candido, Marco Triches and Matteo Gastaldo. The brigade’s team leader, Giuliano Dodero, who was injured in the explosion, was applauded when he arrived in a wheelchair, La Stampa said.
