Aussie Larrikin's Hilarious Way of Cooling Down During Intense Heat

This Aussie bloke had onlookers in hysterics after he ‘swam’ down a flooded street in Geraldton, New South Wales, on January 12.

The Perth man took advantage of a burst water main that flooded a street outside the Freemasons Hotel. He began performing breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly to the applause of onlookers.

“I can’t even express how funny it was to watch in person,” uploader Tahlia Bland told Storyful.

“All the customers were watching and applauded at the end.

“The guy swimming is from Perth but comes to our pub every night for dinner when he is working here in Geraldton."

The stunt was a dare from friends, Bland said.

Geraldton was one of a number of towns affected by high temperatures in mid-January.

Severe weather warnings were issued for communities in New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria and South Australia as authorities advised residents to follow health and safety tips to avoid heatstress. Credit: Tahlia Bland via Storyful
