Aircraft Dump Water on Raging Australian Bushfire as Fraser Island Continues to Burn

Seventeen aircraft dumped water and other fire suppressants on Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia, on Thursday, December 3, as a bushfire continued to devastate the area.

This footage uploaded to Twitter shows a plane dropping large amounts of water on the island as plumes of smoke are seen wafting from the burning bushland.

According to the Queensland Fire and Emergency service, more than 1.86 million litres of combined fire suppressants have been used on Fraser Island since Saturday November 28, with 345,000 litres used on Wednesday alone. Credit: Queensland Fire & Emergency via Storyful
