Air Tanker Drops Fire Retardant Over Western Australian Bushfire

Firefighters continued to tackle a bushfire near Collie, Western Australia, on December 15, as an emergency warning was issued for the area.

Video posted by Coolup Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade shows an air tanker dropping fire retardant on the area in an effort to curtail the blaze.

The air tanker, a Boeing 737, was deployed to the area from New South Wales and can hold up to 15,000 liters of water.

A second emergency warning was issued for the area on December 16 as the fire broke through containment barriers and began to spread at a rate of a kilometer an hour, according to ABC News.
