Aberdeen Fans Throw Snowballs at Helsinki Goalkeeper

Aberdeen’s away fans were perhaps reveling a little too much in the wintry conditions as their team played Helsinki at a snowy Bolt Arena on November 30, with play having to be halted as they pelted snowballs at the home team’s goalkeeper.

The Europa Conference League match between Aberdeen and HJK Helsinki was briefly halted as efforts were made to stop the snowball throwing. A longer delay followed in the second half, as snow had to be cleared from the pitch.

Helsinki fan Marius Lier recorded this footage, showing the snowballs flying toward Niki Maenpaa. A second clip from Lier shows fans singing Jingle Bells as the snowplows get to work.
