Victoria Beckham ‘made £1m’ from Spice Girls tour despite not being on it
Victoria Beckham made just under £1m from last year’s Spice Girls UK tour, despite not actually participating in it.
The fashion mogul and former singer chose not to join her former bandmates for the series of gigs, but reportedly made the same amount of money regardless of her participation.
New accounts show that Spice Girls Limited, the company owned and managed by Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel B and Mel C, made £4.5m last year.
The money, up from the £124,000 worth of assets it had accrued in 2018, was sourced from the tour and a number of brand endorsements signed by the group in its wake.
The Spice Girls tour also earned Beckham more money than her clothing company, which paid her a £700,000 salary in 2019.
“The irony of the payout is that Victoria has become distanced from the Spice Girls as she’s tried to carve out a niche as a fashion designer,” a source told The Sun. “But they have become a major source of her income once again.”
Beckham recently reversed her decision to furlough 30 employees of her fashion firm. She came under fire after it was revealed that her company had applied to use public money to support its staff, despite Beckham herself having a reported net worth of £335m.
