Venus Wong denies Hokkaido wedding was a secret event
24 Sep – Hong Kong actress Venus Wong dismissed the idea that her recent wedding was done in secret, saying that she and husband Derek Tsang only wanted a low-key ceremony.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke about her early September wedding with the filmmaker recently, stated that the two of them had always intended to hold a private reception where only relatives and close friends would attend.
"We didn't want anything big, just something that can be enjoyed by all of our guests," she said.
Asked why they chose to do it in Hokkaido, Japan, Venus said that the prefecture was the first place she and Derek went together as a couple.
"We travel to Hokkaido every year and share lots of memories there," she said.
She also admitted that she was happy to have the wedding of her dreams.
"I never thought that my wish will come true. Everybody who love me, my parents and siblings were all there. Everybody made me feel loved and they all told me that they were happy and had fun," she said.
