Vehicle Swept Away by Torrential Rain in Zapopan, Mexico

“Intense” rain caused flooding in greater Guadalajara, Mexico, on Monday, June 6, officials said.

Rain and wind on Monday afternoon and into the evening downed trees and caused flooding that stranded motorists in the city of Zapopan, firefighters said.

According to Zapopan officials, 71.2 mm (2.8 in) of rain fell and winds of more than 80 km/h (49.7 mph) were recorded.

At least two people trapped by rising waters were rescued by the Civil Protection and Fire Department.
