Vanderpump Rules' Katie Maloney is sharing details of a surprising evening she once spent with Crispin Glover.

On the latest episode of Maloney's podcast Disrespectfully, which she cohosts with another alum from the Bravo reality show, Dayna Kathan, Maloney revealed that she once went on something of a date with Glover, 59, after they met at the Sundance Film Festival in the 2000s.

Maloney, who grew up in Park City, Utah, where Sundance is held each year, explained that she used to work at a "gifting lounge" in the town that celebrities would visit each year and that she met Glover, best known for starring in 1985's Back to the Future and 2000's Charlie's Angels, when he visited.

"So he came in, he had a film at the festival that year, and he was really nice," she recalled of Glover. "While he was in there, the duration, when I came around we exchanged pleasantries — and he was like, 'Do you have plans later? Do you want to come see the screening of my movie?' And I was like 'Oh, sure, I don't think I'm doing anything later. That's cool.' "

While Maloney did not recall exactly what year their meeting happened, Glover made his directorial debut in 2005 with What Is It?, which premiered at that year's Sundance festival.

Maloney said that the film "was the weirdest movie I've ever seen."

"It was so strange," she said. "I show up, I see him — he's like, 'Oh great, you're here. Let's go grab our seats.' I thought he was just going to put me on a list and I'd show up, watch the movie and bounce. Oh, no — I was there to go watch the movie with him."

An official synopsis for What Is It? on Mubi's website describes the film as "a bewildering, unnerving, surreal, blackly comic" story. On the podcast, Maloney recalled "sitting next to him watching this movie [thinking], 'What the f--- is happening in front of me?' " as it screened.

"But I can't react that way, I have to try to follow along and understand what this movie is about," she said. "No clue. And it's a full-length movie, it's not a short. It's like an hour-plus movie. It's dark, it's twisted, it's strange. I mean, it's Crispin Glover. What are we expecting?"

After the film ended, Maloney said Glover invited her to have a cup of tea nearby, at which point she said they "just had a very normal conversation," which led her to believe the evening was intended to be a date. Though she said she does not recall speaking with Glover again after the one meeting, she shared that he was "really nice and kind" during their evening together.

"I think people talk about him being this strange dude — he's done some weird stuff on talk shows in the past and people are always very curious about him because he's just interesting," she said. "My experience with him was kind of just him being a guy."
