Uvalde Memorial Set Up Outside Texas Governor's Mansion on Anniversary of Shooting

A vigil for the victims of the Robb Elementary School shooting was set up outside the Governor’s Mansion in Austin, Texas, on May 24, on the first anniversary of the mass shooting.

Nineteen children and two teachers were killed by an 18-year-old gunman on May 24, 2022.

Video filmed by Twitter user @msfutureworld shows people leaving objects and paying their respects at the memorial, where easels held photos and artwork of each of the victims.

A week prior to the anniversary, Texas legislators blocked a bill attempting to raise the minimum firearm purchasing age from 18 to 21, local reports said. Credit: @msfutureworld via Storyful
