UTA To Represent the Anti-Defamation League

·2-min read

The Anti-Defamation League, the leading anti-hate organization known for combatting antisemitism and other forms of discrimination, has signed with its first event agency of record in UTA.

As antisemitic incidents have spiked across the United States, Europe and elsewhere, UTA will lead efforts with the creative community to advance the ADL’s work.

“Amid a resurgence of extremism and hate in this country, the work of ADL has never been more important, and there is a deep yearning among many of my UTA colleagues and across this industry to stand up and make a difference,” said UTA co-president Jay Sures. “ADL’s goal is a world in which no group or individual suffers from bias, discrimination or hate. UTA’s focus will be on expanding the scale and impact of ADL’s work through partnerships with entertainment and technology platforms, as well as industry leaders and talent. Together we will stand against hate, ignorance and bigotry in all its forms.”

According to preliminary data from the ADL’s Center on Extremism, antisemitic incidents in the US have increased by 68% since violence erupted between Israel and Hamas earlier this month. Synagogues have been vandalized with broken windows and graffitied swastikas, and violent attacks against Jews have skyrocketed across the country, with one assault occurring just two miles from UTA’s Los Angeles headquarters.

Founded in 1913 in response to escalating antisemitism in the US, the ADL aims to fight discrimination against Jewish people and secure fair treatment for all. The organization is a global leader in providing anti-bias education and tackling hate online.

“The creative community plays an incredibly important role in the hearts and minds of the American people. Stories can drive us apart or help bring us together,” said ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. “We are excited to have a partner with whom we can advocate effectively and powerfully within the entertainment and technology industries. UTA will be a very important strategic partner as we expand our work with entertainment, media and technology stakeholders and stand shoulder to shoulder with communities of color who face continuous surges of violence and hate, as well.”
